The Ifen used to be an insiders´ tip in the Allgäu alps with its nostalgic chairlifts, but during the last years, it was turned into a state-of-the-art skiing and hiking area.
The last step to becoming a first class skiing area for the whole family was finished in December 2017, when the 10-person gondolas ´Ifen I´ and ´Ifen II´ where brought into service. In summer, the Ifen is popular with hikers for its panoramic tours, excerting hikes and amazing views. The spectacular cliffs and the impressive ´Gottesacker´ plateau are really fascinating to see. The ´Gottesacker´ plateau, about which many legends are told, is a 10 square kilometer large karst area with stone fields and cliffy geological formations and it is definitely worth a visit all year round.
The Ifenbahn gondola takes you to culinary delights
A culinary highlight during the winter season is the new mountain restaurant ´Tafel&Zunder´ at the top station of the new Ifen II gondola. When the Ifen gondola was rebuilt in 2017, the restaurant was rebuilt, too. And not only the restaurant is all new, the local high-quality organic cuisine - which was awarded the ´Grüne Haube´ - was also taken to the next level.

- At the end of December 2017, the Ifen I & II gondolas where put into operation. The two 10-person gondolas guarantee for even more skiing fun on about 25km of slopes. And the gondolas are not only new, but also a lot more comfortable than their predecessors. In summer, the new Ifen I takes all guests to the ´Ifenhütte´ restaurant, which is the perfect starting point for all continuative hikes.
- the easy panoramic walkway leads you in summer after about half an hour of walking to a vantage point below the Ifen plateau, where amazing views will enchant you as much as the various flowers surrounding you.
- the ´Herzsee´ (which means heart-shaped lake) close to the valley station, is in winter the literal "heart" of the snowmaking facilities and in summer a refreshing eye-catcher. And all year-round it is a perfect example for the eco-friendly construction and the sustainable, close-to-nature approach for the extension of our range of products.
