A mountain with good prospects: the Nebelhorn. You can reach the highest and most panoramic mountain of the OBERSTDORF · KLEINWALSERTAL BERGBAHNEN fast and comfortably with the mountain cable car in three sections. No other cable car in the Allgäu is reaching such heights - and has been for over 80 years now! On its maiden trip on June 10, 1930 is was supposed to be the longest cableway in the world.
A special highlight, along with the 400-peak-view and the newly built restaurant at the Nebelhorn peak, is the ´Nordwandsteig´ peak walk - a short walkway around the northern wall of the Nebelhorn, 600m above an impressive canyon. Of course you are absolutely safe here and even strollers and wheelchairs can use this walkway.
The Nebelhorn is starting point for many amazing hiking tours and nice walks on partly wheelchair- and stroller-friendly paths.
Challenging climbing routes for all those that have the alpine experience and the necessary gear, promises the via ferrata ´Hindelanger Klettersteig´.
Furthermore, the Nebelhorn has a "gentle" side, too. The interactive nature studies path ´Uff d´r Alp´ at the Seealpe station conveys interesting facts about alpine farming in a child-friendly way. The ´Höfatsweg´ themed hike at the Höfatsblick station gives interesting insights into the life in the high alpine territory, e.g. about marmots, eagles and many more.
